Though the demands of the track weren't as extreme, the competition remained fierce and the bar-banging action did not disappoint. As always, the race to watch was the Marty Tripes 100cc Works Revenge, featuring the classic simplicity of 100cc air- cooled two-strokes. Vintage en- thusiast and Glen Helen fixture Doug Dubach lined up for the challenge against seasoned mo- tocross star Scott Burnworth and current pro racer Sean Collier – by far the youngest face in the Works Revenge Pro class. "Yeah, Sean Collier… as in the guy who got 14 th at Hangtown," Dubach exclaimed of his main competitor. Just as they had at the World 2-Stroke Motocross Champion- ship two months earlier, Dubach and Collier were back at it, swap- ping paint for the lead. The two had a great battle with the first- moto win ultimately going to Col- lier after Dubach blew a turn on the last lap. "That was a blast," Collier said.
