THE SOCAL VINTAGE MOTOCROSS CLASSIC, PRESENTED BY 100% VOL. 51 ISSUE 24 JUNE 17, 2014 P101 packed it in before the second moto, however, which left Billy Smith running away with the overall win aboard his Honda. The Modern Four-Stroke class left plenty of jaws on the floor when women's pro moto- cross rider Sayaka Kaneshiro came out swinging. The former factory Honda rider controlled the early part of the first moto and starred in a spectacular three-way battle for the lead throughout the race. Kaneshiro barely held on to second over- all behind Johnny O'Brien, but was technically first Open Ex- pert since O'Brien signed up as Intermediate. The second Open Pro moto was much the same, with Kaneshiro battling close to the front throughout the race. O'Brien once again finished first overall with Kaneshiro in tow, each taking 1-1 victories in their respective classes. "Very, very awesome day," Kaneshiro said. "I never had so much fun. I promise! Back and forth and banging around with the guys, it was so much fun! I loved it! There's a lot of sweet people here and people cheer- Gary Faxon (25S) was a winner on his cherry CZ.
