tage." He asserted he'd slowed
on the next sector to compen-
sate, but to no avail. A half-sec-
ond penalty put him 13th.
It had been an encouraging
weekend for Hayden, fresh from
surgery to his right wrist, and a
brave ride. He had started the
weekend unsure whether he
would be able to ride, with Leon
Camier standing by in the pits
should it prove impossible.
Ducati teset rider Michele Pirro
had lost touch of those two, with
Hayden's teammate Hiro Aoyama
losing ground behind him for the
final point.
Besides Abraham and Bau-
tista, Mike Di Meglio and Ducati's
Cal Crutchlow both retired.
"We had a problem from the
first laps with the bike, which was
behaving strangely and it didn't
allow me to ride the way I wanted
to," said Crutchlow. "Then a load
of warning lights came on, the
bike stopped and I had to retire."
Marquez extended his points
lead even further – and now
leads by almost 60 points with
175 to Rossi's 117. The revitalized
Pedrosa has 112 points; Lorenzo
has 78 and Dovizioso is fifth with
