VOL. 51 ISSUE 23 JUNE 10, 2014 P63
T
he 2015 Honda CRF450R
has been significantly
upgraded, but the biggest
news is the updated KYP Pneu-
matic Spring Fork (PSF) that
now features high/low compres-
sion and rebound damping ad-
justments, a new Engine Mode
Select button on the handlebar
that allows you to toggle through
three pre-programmed map-
ping settings, and a new cylin-
der head that now allows for a
right-side exhaust port, which
reduces the overall length of
the exhaust header pipe and,
according to Honda, generates
more top-end power and added
overrev — peak power now hits
higher than before.
Other notable changes
include a new location for the
rear shock's rebound adjuster,
new EFI/ignition maps, a new
piston, a heavier flywheel,
beefed up transmission, updated
front brake, and mods to both
the clutch and throttle for lighter
operation.
Honda has not announced an
MSRP for the 2015 CRF450R
but said the bike will be available
in September.
It's also fitted with Dunlop's
latest Geomax MX52 tires.
