VOL. 51 ISSUE 23 JUNE 10, 2014 P61
H
onda's popular single-cyl-
inder CBR250R has grown
into the new CBR300R for
the 2015 model year. Compared
to the previous CBR250R,
the all-new CBR300R, with
its longer 63mm of engine
stroke (formerly 55mm)
and additional 37cc
displacement, delivers,
according to Honda,
a 17-percent boost
in peak power from its four-
valve, DOHC, six-speed motor.
It sports a full sport fairing, dual
headlights, new mirrors and a
new CBR500R-inspired exhaust
system, and it takes its styling
cues from Honda's larger-dis-
placement CBR series.
In addition, new seat shaping
and side covers provide an eas-
ier reach to the ground. Actual
seat height is a low 30.7 inches
and has a claimed curb weight
of 357 pounds (add about six
pounds for the ABS model). It
holds 3.4 gallons and estimated
fuel economy is 71 mpg.
The 2015 CBR300R will also
be available in four different
color options: Black, Red, Pearl
White/Red/Blue, and Matte
Black Metallic/Yellow.
MSRP is $4399 for the
standard model, $4899 for ABS
version and will be available in
August.
