Leon Haslam (Honda) 8. Davide Giugliano (Ducati) 9. David Salom (Kawasaki) 10. Leon Camier (BMW) WHO IS DAVIDE GIUGLIANO Who is Davide Giugliano? De- scribe yourself to someone who does not know you? I am a young man like any other who is following his dream with a lot of tenacity." Your career has been long al- ready, but patchy. Why was that? I agree with that opinion. Years ago I was a guy with all the will in the world but no budget. That meant I could go into teams that taught me a lot from a human point of view, but that did not allow me to be at world level. This was years ago, before I went to Althea in Superstock. From when I started in Al- thea things began to change. They had some resources and a bike that allowed me to get some results. That was a step up. My first year in Superbike is probably the time when I learned the most. I had an extremely fast teammate in Carlos Checa. How does it feel to be an Italian and the official Ducati rider, now that the official team is back for 2014? I love the fact that somebody like me, who has grown up through the categories, can reach this point. I am really proud. Although Althea was very much factory supported it was not a fac- tory team. The people you are talking to here in Ducati are the people who are making the bike and the parts. On the other side, you have to show why you have deserved your place in the team all the time." Do you think it will be possible for you to win a race this year? Yes I need to. It is not that it is pos- sible; it is necessary! Who is Davide Giugliano? Melandri (center) celebrates a perfect day at the office after winning race two. Guintoli (left) seems less happy while Sykes (right) had to have been relieved to leave Sepang with the championship lead still intact.
