IN THE WIND P32 WALKER RUNS AWAY WITH ERZBERG WIN K TM Factory Racing's Jonny Walker claimed his second Red Bull Erzberg Rodeo win in three years at the 20th running of the notoriously challenging event on June 1. Walker took off from the start and was never seriously challenged. "I believed I could win this race and that's exactly what I set out to do from the start," said an ec- static Walker at the finish line. "I've trained my butt off since The Tough One. I felt ready and I gave it everything I had. Overall the race went well, I hardly made any mistakes and got the win. I'm so happy right now — I needed this!" Graham Jarvis, the defending champion crashed in the early going and was forced to play catch up. He ultimately finished second. Walker's KTM teammate Andreas Lettenbichler rounded out the podium. Canada's Cory Graffunder, a regular on the American Enduro- Cross tour finished seventh in his fourth attempt at Erzberg. Erzberg Rodeo rookies Taylor Robert and Cody Webb fought it out to the finish, with Robert nar- rowly beating Webb for ninth and top American honors. KTM's Jonny Walker won this year's running of the Erzberg Rodeo in Austria. PHOTOGRAPHY BY FUTURE7MEDIA/KTM IMAGES INJURY SIDELINES MULLINS F actory FMF/KTM rider Charlie Mullins, the cur- rent points leader in both the AMA National En- duro and GNCC Series, saw his run for dual cham- pionships all but get wiped out after suffering an injury to his wrist that will see him in a cast through August. Mullins was practicing in his home state of North Carolina on Tuesday, May 27, when he fell and dis- located his right wrist. He underwent surgery to pin the wrist, which also suffered ligament damage. He hopes to be riding again shortly after the cast is re- moved and hopes to return to racing in September. "This was an unfortunate accident for Charlie who has been on top of his game this year," said Factory FMF/KTM Team Manager Antti Kallonen. "We will do everything to help him get back up to speed once he is healed and continue to support him to the best of our ability through his recovery process." As of now, there is no plan of replacing Mullins on the just-named U.S. Trophy Team for the up- coming ISDE. A wrist injury suffered while practicing will sideline Enduro and GNCC points leader Charlie Mullins until at least August. PHOTOGRAPHY BY SHAN MOORE
