CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Thank you, Dr. Feldkamp, for your generosity and perseverance in bringing this great motocross spectacle back…" Thanking Bud On behalf of every Motocross fan in Southern California, a grateful thanks to Bud Feld- kamp for bringing outdoor mo- tocross championship racing back to Glen Helen. Along with the hard-working crew at Glen Helen and the Dave Coombs family, we finally got to enjoy some epic outdoor motocross again. The Ken Roczen/Ryan Dungey battle was an awesome duel to the finish as were the 250's clawing for traction up Mount St. Helens. Thank you, Dr. Feldkamp, for your generosity and perse- verance in bringing this great motocross spectacle back for over 24,000 dedicated fans here in Southern California. Byron Farnsworth Via the Internet Wanting Sprocket Will you please issue a book of Sprocket cartoons? I will buy two. Ronna Tritz Via the Internet Oh, oh… I fear a pay-increase e-mail will be here shortly from John Mockett… Editor Digital Like Never in the 1970s reading my weekly paper copy of Cycle News with the old black and white pictures would I have dreamed of the beautiful online copy of today. Keep up the great work. Dan Murray Via the Internet Glen Helen Opener Ryan Dungey and Ken Roc- zen are a clear notch ahead of the field in real motocross (as opposed to the night time secondary circus production). They will look even stronger as it gets hotter. Josh Grant is a natural born bullet. Sorry for him in second moto. It's going to be a good year. Neal Thomas Via Facebook Awesome Track This Glen Helen track was awesome. Its natural terrain of steep uphill and downhill sec- tions are something that I would describe as… you gotta see it in person to believe it. Many of the uphills were so steep that when a rider crashed they slid downhill from their bikes and had to dig and crawl on all fours to grab a tire or handle- bar to drag the bike down the sandy-topsoil-over hard-pack track. People actually cheered riders on just for getting back to their bikes. Congratulations to Ryan Dungey. I've always called him a locomotive; he builds up steam, stalks and waits to go in for the kill. That method is much better suited for outdoors. Ken Roczen's tough loss was the most gra- cious of its kind I've seen from any Euro rider. Class act, Ken! Gregory Eddinger Via Facebook Team Husky Nice to see Husqvarna back in the game. I can't wait to see what the future holds when they come out with their own line separate from KTM. Had a lot of great rides on Huskys back in the day.
