the Hangtown hillside in moto
one all the way to the finish line,
only this time it was for a wire-to-
wire win. (At Glen Helen, Roczen
and Dungey finished 2-3 behind
first-moto winner Josh Grant.)
And just like at Glen Helen, Roc-
zen and Dungey again found
themselves battling for the sec-
ond-moto win and overall victory
at Hangtown, only this time Roc-
zen was able to hold off Dungey
fairly easily for the 1-1 overall vic-
tory. Dungey had to settle for a
2-2 for second overall.
The key to Roczen's success
in the deciding second moto was
making a couple of quick passes
early in the race. Both Roczen
and Dungey found themselves

of one of the track's bumpy down-
hills. He got slammed to the ground
and had to call it a day. He ended up
DNFing both motos, unable to earn a
single point on the day.
The TLD team, however, had a strong
ride by Jessy Nelson who started
outside the top 10 in the opening
moto, but he got down to business
and moved up to seventh before it
was all over. He had a similar start
in moto two but moved up to fifth
after some relentless battles along
the way. He ended up fifth overall for
one of his best performances of his
career.
A black cloud continues to follow the
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawa-
saki Team. After finishing a disap-
pointing sixth in the first moto, former
250 outdoor champ Blake Baggett
was giving everything his bike had
following a terrible 19
th
-place finish
when the motor let go. He was run-
ning 11
th
and looking for more when
he coasted back to the mechanics
area, where his day officially came
to a disappointing end. Of the team's
six riders, four of them — Adam Cian-
ciarulo, Darryn Durham, Dean Wil-
son and Martin Davalos — are cur-
rently out with injuries.
The one bright spot on the Pro Cir-
cuit team was Justin Hill who over-
came a bad start, a crash, and plenty
of battles along the way in the 250
class to finish out the day fourth
overall with 4-6 moto scores. Had
it not been for a second-moto fall,
he most likely would have ended up
on the podium. "I had it," said Hill. "I
felt really good today and was able
to push all the way to the end of the
motos, but came up just short. I had

second 450
moto until
Roczen (94)
forced his way
through.
