SUPERBIKE SHOOTOUT SUPERBIKE SHOOTOUT SERIES FINAL ROUND/MAY 25, 2014 MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK/TOOELE, UTAH P108 Fillmore has also raised his game to another level as well as making strides in the development of the RC-8. "For me it's really good," Fillmore said about the series. "It's building my confidence. And it's really good track time. And it's with the best guys in our series. I'm glad that KTM decided to participate. And that John Ulrich put it on. Every- one's done a really good job. And it's been fun. Besides crashing. That hasn't been very fun." Although it was a repeat of So- noma – crashing while fighting up front – fighting up there with Hayes is enough of a positive to take away some of the sting. "Man if these last two races are any sign of how the rest of the AMA season is going to go – it's unbelievable," Fillmore said. "We went from being maybe top five team to now the last two races I've showed up and I've qualified in the top three – third in Sonoma second here. We're close to the guys that have been untouch- able for me. What we've built so far over these past two races will just transfer straight into the next round and continue on through the rest of the series. I've just got to pull my head out of my own ass and keep the thing on two wheels." In contrast, for Beach it's not like the R6 is playing catch up in the development game. It's also not a new OEM for the Ow- ensboro resident, but it's a new team. And up until Miller, it's been a rough start to the season for Beach. So at Miller things fi- nally fell into place for the former AMA Supersport East and Red Bull Rookie Champion. The extra three races allowed him and his team to get the bike set up how he needed it and built his confi- dence back up. "I'm very thankful that this se- ries was put together," Beach said. "The races have been out- standing. You can definitely tell it's really helped me because from the first race to this race I've improved a lot and I feel a lot bet- ter with the bike. The kind of pace you run when you're racing is a lot different than if we just rented a track and went and tested. I'm really glad that we got to do some races and get some stuff figured out."
