MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1/MAY 24, 2014 GLEN HELEN RACEWAY/SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA P52 A STARRY FINISH Cooper Webb made it a Yama- lube/Star Racing Yamaha Team 1-2 after he too put in two stellar rides. He didn't get the starts like Martin did — not even close — but he passed some big guns of the class along the way before lock- ing down a pair of second-place finishes for second overall. His first moto was quite impressive after starting the race off in 11 th place. "It was an awesome day with Jeremy and me going 1-2," Webb said. "But my starts sucked today, so I had to come up through the pack in both motos, but I would say it was a good day and I'm happy with the result. Last year I ended the season off with a po- dium finish and getting a second overall here is my best finish ever, so it's a good start to the season. It's a long season and I'm just try- ing to have fun and take it race by race." However, it wasn't a com- pletely joyful day for the Star Ya- maha Team. Its third member, Anthony Rodriguez, suffered a concussion after getting caught up in that first-turn pileup in the second 250 moto that caused a red flag and a restart. Rodriguez was running fifth in the first moto when he went down on the third lap and dropped to last place. He finished out the race in 24 th . MOTOCROSS GUY Cole Seely might be better Josh Grant (33) grabbed the holeshot in the first 450 moto and never looked back. Roczen (94) gave him at fight at the end but Grant held on for the win.
