IN THE WIND P34 MV DAY FOR CASTIGLIONI T housands of eager participants on bikes of ev- ery kind and from every era ventured to Varese, Italy on May 21 to remember the late Claudio Cas- tiglioni. Thanks in part to Castiglioni, world-famous brands such as Aermacchi, Cagiva, Husqvarna and Ducati have made their way back into the mar- ket and back into the dealerships to enjoy renewed success and prestige. Not to mention, of course, MV Agusta. The event was also attended by two much loved past champions with close ties to these brands - Giacomo Agostini and Marco Lucchinelli. MOVIE FILMING AT THE MILE M ovie Director Dana Brown had a film crew at the Springfield Mile this past week- end shooting footage for the up- coming movie "On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter." Brown said he's been working on the Red Bull-sponsored project for about a year and the movie is expected to hit theaters in late October. In addition to shooting actual race footage, the crew set up a bike with six cameras that former Grand National rider Steve More- head piloted. Morehead and a group of top riders went out and had a mock race with the camera bike picking up the drafting and frequent passing of a mile dirt track. Brown, who directed the criti- cally acclaimed "Dust to Glory," said Red Bull Media House ap- proached him about doing a new version of "On Any Sunday," the seminal motorcycle movie di- rected by Brown's father Bruce Brown. "My initial reaction was 'Look, that movie's flawless. It would be asinine to try to do another one,' " Brown explained. "I talked to dad and he said, 'Well… I think it's time. Motorcycling could use it, so why don't you do it.' So with his blessing I went back to Red A Triumph that housed six cameras was ridden by Steve Morehead (in background) in shooting filming sequences for "On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter" at the Springfield Mile.
