VOL. 51 ISSUE 21 MAY 28, 2014 P29
be tough and stand your ground
in the heat of battle, like he did
at Le Mans with Vazquez. That's
got to be one of the best races
ever. Honestly, in that situation I
might've yielded, but Jack held
firm and made Vazquez back off
in a corner he seemed to be hav-
ing trouble with.
"A couple of years ago Jack
was crashing a bit; he was a raw
talent, and now he's in a good
position to claim a world title for
Australia. I have to say I'm sur-
prised how well he is going. His
parents have given Jack every
bit of support in his journey to
become a Grand Prix rider, and
they fully deserve the success he
is enjoying."
With the 2014 Honda NS-
F250R boasting extra grunt off
the turns and a strong top-end,
Gardner says Miller has done
well to keep his Red Bull KTM
Ajo at the top of the points' table.
He also believes Miller's happy-
go-lucky attitude will serve him
well, and provide motivation for
other Aussie hopefuls like Gard-
ner's road racing sons, Remy
and Luca.
"Jack's a bit of a character, he
likes a laugh and that's important
for any young racer," Gardner
said. "Look at [Marc] Marquez
– a happy racer is a fast racer.
Jack's got a place down the
coast from us, and knows Remy
and Luca pretty well. He's always
friendly with them, and he's very
good the way he interacts with
everyone. He now understands
what it takes to win at this level,
which will serve him well in the
years to come."
With Marquez turning the Mo-
toGP Championship into a cake-
walk, Gardner says the Moto3
title chase is far from over despite
his favoritism towards the Aussie
gun, citing Fenati, Rins, Vasquez
and Vinales as possible threats to
Miller's title dreams.
"Jack came out of LeMans with
a 30-point lead, which is very big
in a high-quality field so early in
the season. But I have no doubt
those other guys haven't given
up. It's going to be a cracker of a
championship."

B
y the end of the second stop of the 2014 Red
Bull X-Fighters World Tour in Osaka, Japan,
on May 25, one thing has become perfectly
clear: New Zealand's Levi Sherwood is the man
to beat as the freestyle series moves into its criti-
cal summer stage.
The 22 year old has been unstoppable so far:
He won the season opener in Mexico City be-
fore dominating the battle at Osaka Castle on
Saturday in front of 20,000 spectators. Rémi Bi-
zouard of France earned second-place honors,
with Spaniard Dany Torres third.
