MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 51 ISSUE 20 MAY 20, 2014 P49
10 laps were done. Hernandez
managed to hold off Hayden's
teammate Hiroshi Aoyama after a
strong fight in the closing laps.
Colin Edwards had been part
of it, but yet again his NGM Yama-
ha ran into technical problems on
the final lap, and he had to paddle
it across the line, handing the last
point to Cardion AB Motoracing
Karel Abraham. He had plenty of
fuel left, but as at Jerez, it wasn't
getting to the engine.
Marquez's points advantage is
knocking on towards two races –
now 42 points, 125-83, over Pedro-
sa. Rossi is closing in on second
with 81 points, from Dovizioso's 53
and Bradl's 39. CN

MILLER MUSCLES WAY TO TOP
through the right at the end of the
back straight, and Vazquez ran wide,
going from a potential win to sixth at a
stroke, and angrily but unsuccessfully
demanding a penalty for Miller after the
race.
Rins was right there in second;
Calvo KTM's Isaac Vinales a couple of
tenths behind in third. Then another
.2 of a second to Sky VR46 KTM rider
Francesco Bagnaia, who got the better
of an unusually timid Alex Marquez at
the finish. Vazquez was almost along-
side and rookie Enea Bastianini was a
close seventh. Bagnaia also set a new
lap record.
Argentine GP
winner, Sky VR46
KTM's Romani
Fenati had been
in the lead group,
but slowed to retire
with engine trouble.
Miller reopened
his points lead with
better than a race to spare with 104 to
Fenati's 74 and Vazquez's 72. Rins had
71, then comes the younger Marquez
with 60.
The Moto3 race was
a slugfest with Jack
Miller (8) coming
out on top for a third
time in 2014.
It's all fun and
games if you're
on the podium:
Rossi, Marquez
and Bautista
enjoy the
moment.
