CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R 'I realize that most people think that grown men playing with their balls and sticks are "sports," but in reality they are not." Real Sports Reading what Paul Carruthers opinion (Carruthers Says, Issue 18, May 6) is on the new "anti doping" rules for motocross/ Supercross, but unfortunately he lost all credibility with me when he said: "Here's hoping that we differ a bit from those other real sports in that we don't have any positive test results." Hey, Carruthers, you should know by now that the only "real" sports are track and field, boxing and motocross/Super- cross. All those other ones that you refer to are games. I realize that most people think that grown men playing with their balls and sticks are "sports," but in reality they are not. They are all just games. Other than that statement I reckon I agree with your point of view on the anti-doping. Curly Kunert Via the Internet Real Sports II Drug testing, including tests for blood doping, is coming to AMA Motorcross racing (Cycle News, Issue 18, May 6). Per- sonally, I've been talking about this happening to our sport for a long time and it is long over due. I expect to see a complete shake up in the list and order of the top riders, including the possibility of some early retirements. When that hap- pens, everything will change and it should tell every serious fan something about the guy or guys who you have been rooting for. I'll leave it up to the individual what that message might be. Thanks for a great online magazine Cycle News. You make my week. I just hope my boss doesn't find out. Charlie Vetter Yorba Linda, CA Real Sports III While I don't have an issue with drug testing for perfor- mance enchantments, I do take issue with the USADA. Specifically, this quasi -gov- ernmental body's right to make judgments that it does not have to prove in a court of law. My view of the 'agency' is that it is populated by zealots, who care not a bit, for real justice, The case of LaTasha Jenkins comes to mind. The sport that does not have supervision is dangerous, but I think we need to clean up the anti-doping group as well. It gets its funding mostly from the U.S. Congress and should be investigated for its anti-justice practices before it is allowed to publicly pillory anyone. Brian L Jones Saint Paul, MN No Fieri Fan What a joke. We could do without the fat guy trying to talk about something he knows nothing about. All for personal gain and to promote his restau- rant. You could tell he was out of his element. He said, "it's so dirty and dusty." Dude, you're at a motorcycle race. What did you expect? Please don't do that again. Clark Plummer Via the Internet World Superbike – Option 2 BeIN Sports is in one of the special high dollar upgrade packages that DirectTV uses to bump up the monthly bills. Call them and they will happily sign you up at a premium. The other option is fork out the $90 for the video pass right off the World Superbike website. All videos are archived and stream in real time so that I don't miss a thing when I'm not home - and can watch everything when I am.
