MOTOGP MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 4/MAY 4, 2014 CIRCUIT DE JEREZ/JEREZ, SPAIN P48 A very happy top three: Rossi, Marquez and Pedrosa celebrate under the Spanish sun. Pramac Ducati's Yonny Her- nandez was a lonely 14th. Some way behind Colin Edwards had held 15th for most of the race be- fore losing the last points-scoring position to Hector Barbera on lap 22. Worse followed, when the en- gine died on the final lap. "It was a nightmare," the Texan said. "I just can't turn this bike. There are 13 turns on this track, and I had to take it in a series of straight lines. From what I under- stand, the engine problem was the same as in Texas: When the fuel gets hot it stops feeding cor- rectly." This left the PBM pair Michael Laverty and Broc Parkes to take a distant and lonely 16th and 17 th , respectively. Ducati's Cal Crutchlow was back after missing Argentina in- jured, and wished he hadn't both- ered with the pain from his right finger when he lost his brakes, dropping back over the first four laps, then retiring very disgrun- tled. Ducati riders Michele Pirro and Andrea Iannone both crashed out, as did Karel Abraham, also com- plaining of front brake problems. Marquez now has more than a one-race advantage over Pe- drosa on points, 100- 72; Rossi closed slightly on 61. Dovizioso is fourth with 45 points, 10 more than Lorenzo. CN MotoGP 1.
