DRUG TESTING FOR
AMA MOTOCROSS

X Sports Pro Racing announced last week
that they have entered into an agreement with
the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) to
implement a comprehensive anti-doping program
in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code for
the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
According to Davey Coombs, President of MX
Sports Pro Racing, "USADA is a leader in the
international anti-doping community, and we're
pleased to be able to work with this agency to con-
duct testing during the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Moto-
cross Championship."
Coombs added, "Testing for performance-en-
hancing substances in professional sports in the
U.S. has proven to be an effective and necessary
way to ensure that the playing field is level for all
athletes. With USADA conducting the anti-dop-
ing program in accordance with the international
standards of the WADA Code for the 2014 cham-
pionship, Pro Motocross joins other professional
sports that have adopted similar testing programs
designed to protect the integrity of our races."
USADA is responsible for the testing and re-
sults management process for athletes in the
U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement, and is

The 20th annual 3J's
Motorcycle Track
Day raised more than
$30,000 for charity last
week at Sonoma Race-
way in Sonoma, Califor-
nia. Nearly 120 riders con-
verged on the raceway for
a day of recreational rid-
ing. All proceeds from the
event will go to qualified
youth groups in Sonoma
County through Speed-
way Children's Charities,
the charitable arm of So-
noma Raceway.
Motorcycle
Awareness Month
The perils of distracted
driving take a front seat
during May, which is
designated as national
Motorcycle Awareness
Month. The initiative,
supported by the National
Highway Traffic Safety
Administration, encour-
ages drivers to watch for
motorcycles and under-
stand that motorcycle rid-
ers enjoy the same rights
and privileges as opera-
tors of other vehicles. The
slogans are everywhere,
on billboards and bumper
stickers, badges and T-
shirts: "Watch out for mo-
torcycles." "Look twice,
save a life." "Share the
road."
Remembering
Hansen
A memorial for long-time
and respected industry
executive Jim Hansen
will be held on May 13,
from 6-9 p.m. at the Bon-
nier Motorcycle Group
offices in Irvine, Califor-
nia. Hansen, who passed
away April 11, was pub-
lisher of Cycle World and
Rider magazines, and
owner/publisher of Amer-
ican Roadracing. All who
had the pleasure of know-
ing and interacting with
him are welcomed and
encouraged to attend.

Canada Spec
Dunlop has been named
the official tire of the
Mopar Canadian Su-
perbike Championship.
Goodyear Canada Inc.
will supply tires for all
classes of Canada's na-
tional motorcycle road
racing series.
