things happened. You can't al-
ways go out on top, but I'm happy
with the night."
Seely, on the other hand, was
not so happy with his fourth.
Seely passed Anderson on the
first lap of the race, but was not
able to catch Hill for third.
Meanwhile, Seely's TLD/Lu-
cas Oil Honda teammate Mal-
colm Stewart finished fifth after
dropping a spot to Seely near the
end of the race.

EAST/WEST SHOOTOUT
West Is Best
The non-points-paying Dave
Coombs Sr. 250SX East/West
Shootout is perhaps the center-
piece of the Las Vegas extrava-
ganza, since it pits the top riders
from the East against the best of
the West. This year, you could
say that the West won with Hill,
Wilson, Anderson and Webb fill-
ing out the top four positions.
Martin was the top placing East
rider in fifth.
With the West and East Coast
Championships all wrapped up,
Bogle and Anderson were free
to flaunt their number one plates,
with Anderson wearing 1W and
Bogle running 1E. However,
when the gate dropped it was the
number-35 of Hill with the flying
start, the Kawasaki rider lead-
ing teammate Wilson through the
opening lap.
Hill led every lap of the race
with Wilson hot on his tail.
Anderson was third at the
end of the first lap, but Stewart
passed the KTM rider on lap two.
But a hard crash on lap three put
Stewart out of the race.
Out front, Hill and Wilson ran
away with Hill taking the win by a
second and a half over Wilson,
giving the West the well-deserved
bragging rights.
Last Word
"I knew the West guys were pret-
ty fast and I thought it was go-
ing to be interesting to see how
the East guys fit in. We've been
really close to the 450s all year
and that's a pretty good gauge,"
said Hill. "I think we all wanted to
prove a point. I'm definitely excit-
ed that we were able to clean up
and take the top four spots.
"I got a good jump, I got my
shift really good, and I knew I
wasn't going to shut off going into
that first turn," added Hill. "I knew
Dean was behind me and it didn't
really bother me. I was keeping
an eye on him and I knew he was
trying to gauge me. I honestly
was fired up, I was bummed that I
ended up third in the West cham-
pionship, so I wanted to prove a
point."
Wilson's 250 SX Farewell
After winning the West final race,
Wilson wanted nothing more than
to walk away from the 250 Super-
class class with a pair of wins in
Vegas.
"Off the start, I didn't quite
have the jump I wanted so I had
to slice my way though the pack a
little bit," said Wilson. "I was mak-
ing a charge on Justin, I wanted
to win that so bad, it would have
been nice to have two wins to-
night, but I just get him."
Wilson said he would be mov-
ing to the 450 class in 2015.
Anderson crossed the line in
third, still excited over his West
regional title.
"After winning the west cham-
pionship, it was kind of hard to
concentrate for the shootout,"
