his one was all about the
250s. With the 450 Su-
percross Championship
already decided, the 250 class
took center stage at the final
round of the 2014 Monster En-
ergy AMA Supercross Series at
Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium.
Just like last year, both the East
and West Series titles were still
undecided going into Vegas, and
there was the traditional season-
ending Dave Coombs Sr. East/
West Shootout exhibition race,
where the 11 best riders of the
East Series and the 11 best of the
West go at it for bragging rights
before everyone switches modes
and does it all over again in the
upcoming 12-round outdoor Na-
tionals.
What the 450 main event – a
sleeper runaway win by four-time
champ Ryan Villopoto - might
have lacked in the drama depart-
ment was more than made up for
in the 250 East and West finals
and the East/West Shootout
which produced different winners
in all three motos, one of them
being a first-time winner - Rock-
star Energy/Yamahalube/Star
Racing Yamaha's Jeremy Martin
in the East final. The other two
winners were Monster Energy/
Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Dean Wil-
son in the West final and Justin
Hill in the Shootout. But Rockstar
Energy Drinks' Jason Anderson
and GEICO Honda's Justin Bo-
gle were the night's big stars for
