MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES SUPERCROSS BY KIT PALMER AND SHAN MOORE PHOTOGRAPHY BY MOORE AND PALMER T his one was all about the 250s. With the 450 Su- percross Championship already decided, the 250 class took center stage at the final round of the 2014 Monster En- ergy AMA Supercross Series at Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium. Just like last year, both the East and West Series titles were still undecided going into Vegas, and there was the traditional season- ending Dave Coombs Sr. East/ West Shootout exhibition race, where the 11 best riders of the East Series and the 11 best of the West go at it for bragging rights before everyone switches modes and does it all over again in the upcoming 12-round outdoor Na- tionals. What the 450 main event – a sleeper runaway win by four-time champ Ryan Villopoto - might have lacked in the drama depart- ment was more than made up for in the 250 East and West finals and the East/West Shootout which produced different winners in all three motos, one of them being a first-time winner - Rock- star Energy/Yamahalube/Star Racing Yamaha's Jeremy Martin in the East final. The other two winners were Monster Energy/ Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Dean Wil- son in the West final and Justin Hill in the Shootout. But Rockstar Energy Drinks' Jason Anderson and GEICO Honda's Justin Bo- gle were the night's big stars for FINAL ROUND/MAY 3, 2014 SAM BOYD STADIUM/LAS VEGAS, NEVADA P50 Jason Anderson celebrates his hard-earned 250 West Supercross Championship on the Las Vegas podium. Anderson, Bogle crowned Jason Anderson, Justin Bogle claim 250 titles in Las Vegas "superfinal"
