IN THE WIND P32 step of the podium for the sec- ond time this year. Rockstar Energy Suzuki World's Kevin Strijbos managed to turn up the heat in the second race to put a nice pass on his countryman Van Horebeek for second. With a fifth in race one and a second in race two Strijbos rounded out the top three. Race-one winner Monster En- ergy Kawasaki Racing Team's Gautier Paulin had a gnarly crash on the opening lap of race two that left him with a suspected broken collarbone. Of note, Husqvarna's Tyla Rat- tray finished seventh in both mo- tos for sixth overall. In MX2, Herlings wrapped up his fifth Grand Prix win of the year with a pair of easy wins and took back the coveted MX2 red plate. One other rider to stand out with two very impressive per- formances was Wilvo Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing's Ro- main Febvre. Febvre rode in sec- ond for 99-percent of both races only to make a small fault with just yards to go, not once but twice. Despite the costly errors, Febvre kept the bike on two wheels on both occasions to come home with a bitter yet sweet pair of thirds for second overall and his best finish of the year. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Jordi Tixier was looking in great shape in race one when he wasted no time in slicing through the pack to take over third. Once in third, the determined young Frenchman rode a relentless race, chasing down and passing fellow French- man Febvre with one turn to go to take second place. Unfortunately for him in race two, Tixier got off to a great start but fell under the pressure of his race-one nemesis Febvre. After failing to re-group, the best he could do was fifth, which was enough for third overall and his second consecutive podium fin- ish this season. WHO ELSE BUT MARQUEZ? R epsol Honda's Marc Mar- quez left Monday's post- Spanish Grand Prix test at Jerez with the fastest time, the World Championship leader recording a 1:38.737 on the 28 th of 55 laps of the 2.72-mile track – the site of his fourth win of the season a day earlier. Movistar Yamaha's Jorge Lo- renzo ended the day second fastest - .262 of a second off Marquez's best as he worked on electronics and the balance of his M1 while also testing a new swingarm. Both Lorenzo and his teammate Valentino Rossi had new chassis in Jerez, though while Rossi raced the new chas- sis to second place in Sunday's GP, Lorenzo opted to use his old setup. Rossi, Marquez and Go&Fun Honda's Alvaro Bautista rounded out the top five in Monday's test. Michele Pirro handled the test- Win on Sunday, go fast on Monday: Marc Marquez was the fastest of the MotoGP men who tested on the Monday after the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez.
