the top five overall.
"I don't know what was going
on," said Whibley. "I knew the
bike wasn't going to start because
I was doing some practice starts
and it just wouldn't start. After
that I caught up pretty quick and
made a couple of quick passes. I
think I was on to the back of Nick
about halfway through the first
lap. He had a good pace and it
seemed like we pulled away from
everyone else.
"We started getting a little gap,
and then I had the opportunity to
pass Nick up a rocky hill," Whib-
ley added. "I got into the lead and

get a little gap, and it just kept
growing. The second half I was
able to cruise a little bit."

CAIROLI, HERLINGS VICTORIOUS
IN VALKENSWAARD
I

broken record as Red Bull KTM
Factory Racing's Antonio Cai-
roli and Jeffrey Herlings swept
another round of the FIM Moto-
cross World Championship, this
time in round six at the Grand
Prix of the Netherlands at Valken-
swaard on May 4.

wheel in the first MXGP moto,
Cairoli was able to hold on to
finish third, keeping him in con-
tention for the overall win. In the
second moto, Cairoli blasted out
of the gate to claim the Fox Hole-
shot Award, and the seven-time
World Champion went on to win
the moto and claim the overall
victory for the fifth straight time at
the Valkenswaard Circuit.

emy Van Horebeek (2-3) put in a
couple more solid performances
