ROUND 6/MAY 3, 2014
LITTLE SAHARA RECREATION AREA/JERICHO, UTAH
P100
my arms were getting tired, I
was getting tired, my CamelBak
ripped apart. I kept hitting my
head on trees then I hit really
good one time and lost my GoPro
and it kind of rung my bell a little
bit, so I played it safe and just
tried to get a finish out here and
I ended up second so it's not too
bad of a day," the Hoosier Preci-
sion Machining/Dunlop/O'Neal
KX450F-mounted runner-up
said.
At the finish, it was Ramirez by
a comfortable margin over Bra-
bec and Burson, Hannifin slip-
ping to third after running out of
water and Knight repeating his
performance of last year by win-
ning 250cc Expert and finishing
fifth overall.
"It's been a tough year for
me, a lot of ups and downs,"
Ramirez said. "You've just got
to be patient, and if you want to
be a champion, you've got to go
through all that and learn and get
some experience. I'm still kind
of a rookie, like in the hare &
hounds I'm still learning.
"I was able to put everything
together for this race and got
clear vision at the beginning and
kept it on two wheels. All the tight
stuff benefitted me - I like the
tight stuff and sand and all that.
I ride a lot of sand in Palmdale,
[California], so I'm pretty used to
the sand."
He added, "I dedicate this race
to my buddy Kurt [Caselli]." CN
