STEWART OKAY
FOR VEGAS SX
W
hen James Stewart pulled up lame
after wrenching his knee on the third
lap of the main event in Saturday night's
New Jersey Supercross, things didn't look
good for the Yoshimura Suzuki rider and
his team.
But it now appears that the injury isn't
as bad as originally feared.
The word from the Suzuki camp is that
Stewart currently plans on competing at
the Vegas Supercross final on May 3, but
not after a good dose of knee rehab. After
almost a couple of days, Stewart's knee
is, according to the team, "in much better
shape" than they thought it would be. So,
for now, it looks as though Stewart is good
for Vegas.

THE RACE THAT ALMOST WASN'T
M
any of the racers who com-

the AMA Hare & Hound National

California, on April 27, might not
have known how close the race
came from nearly not happen-
ing. Instead, the fifth round of the
championship went off without a
hitch.
The original promoting club
- the Vikings M.C. - discovered
late in the game that the course
they'd laid out months ago evi-
dently breached a portion of
Johnson Valley that the U.S.
Marine Corps recently acquired.
