Briefly...
JCR Honda's Colton Udall and
Women's Pro winner Tatum Sik
both pulled double duty over the
weekend, racing both the AMA Big
6 GP at 29 Palms on Saturday and
then making the trek to Glen Helen
to race the MTA World 2 Stroke
Championship on Sunday.
Among the former national champi-
ons in attendance were Gary Jones,
who topped the 60+ class, and
Chuck Sun, who finished second to
Pete Murray in the 50+ class.
It was a meaningful podium for
Colton Udall, who was riding a
CR250R that formerly belonged to
his friend Jeff "Ox" Kargola who
passed away while riding in Baja a
few years ago. "It was his bike, so it's
really special to me and the whole
team," Udall said. "Every year I say
I'm going to test it and get it handling
right so I can come out here and win,
but I'm happy with second."

To Justin's credit, he showed
true grit by physically pushing his
KTM across the finish line to card
a 13
th
-place finish in the moto.
His 1-13 score left him with eighth
overall and a disappointing end
to a valiant effort.
But Jones' misfortune spelled
out victory for Sean Collier, who
topped the Open Pro class with
a 3-1 score. Collier took the
checkered flag aboard his FMF/
Thinker Bikes YZ250 without
even knowing he had taken top
honors.
"This day is kind of surreal, once
again," Collier said. "Last year I
came out here and it was all last
minute and I ended up winning it. It
was the same thing this year. Quite
honestly, I was not really ready
to come out here and battle with
these guys, but it all worked out in
my favor. I'm really stoked on that
and I had a lot of fun screaming this
bike around the track."
