CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "You need not look any further for inspiration than 43-year-old two-time World Champion Hancock." Speedway TV With the Speedway Grand Prix season rolling it's time to get behind American legend Greg Hancock as he makes his bid for a third world title. You need not look any further for inspira- tion than 43-year-old two-time World Champion Hancock. I'm 57 and he still inspires me to go out and thrash myself against my son on our little track. Young racers in any form of motorsport could learn from his positive, look forward attitude. You can follow his progress and watch live race coverage at speedwaygp.com. Most race times are 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. Pa- cific time Saturday mornings on race day and are streamed live for free. Be sure to check the next race in Poland on April 26. Big thanks to Monster Energy for the backing of speedway and the American team. The World Speedway Invitational in December was fabulous. See you at Kings Lynn. Dwight Hill Yucca Valley, CA Supercross Safety? I too feel that Supercross and motocross have gotten unsafe. It's one thing for Pros to risk injury, but for the other 99 percent the risk is not needed. Motocross used to be on natural terrain tracks. It was fun, and much safer then most tracks now. This is why we no longer race and have pretty much quit riding motorcycles in general. Bill Carr Via the Internet Supercross Sickness What are the chances of get- ting food poisoning...? I got it once, bad shrimp. What are the chances of an elite athlete, under the strict dietary supervi- sion of a full time trainer at the height of the season, getting food poisoning? I would guess probably real close to zero. What are the chances of three elite athletes all coming down with food poisoning at nearly the same time? At the Houston Supercross, James Stewart and Justin Barcia both claimed to have contracted food poisoning, the week be- fore it was Ryan Villopoto. Yeah, sure... Charlie Vetter Yorba Linda, CA Stewey Fan It's nice to see that someone (old vet 28-year-old James Stewart - fastest man on the planet) can finally give Villo- poto a run for the Supercross Championship. Too bad it's too late for Stewart to pull it out for the trophy, but it has been a fun series to watch and thank you Cycle News for excellent coverage - top-shelf indeed. For all those who wrote Stewart off earlier in the year I think it's pretty obvious he still is fast enough to compete as long as he is healthy. I'm go- ing to the Seattle Supercross just to watch him scrub some triples and rip a gnarly quad. Later dudes. Jimmy Z Puyallup WA Nuff Said In reference to Mr. Meeker's observation (Voices, Issue 13, April 1 cyclenews.uberflip. com/i/287613/16) of Denny Hamlin stepping out of the car just because he had a sinus infection, I totally get his point. It is awesome to witness the te- nacity and toughness of these motocross riders. But I want to point out that Hamlin's sinus infection caused major vision problems. At 200-plus mph this is bad.
