the dust and I knew I had to try
and stay with him if I wanted to
get to the front," Strang said. "He
made some passes and I tried to
make them as well to stay with
him."
Strang made his way to third
and set his sights on Mullins
for second place but just as he
reeled the KTM duo in, Strang
had a crash that set him back a
little further.
"I used a little more energy try-
ing to catch those guys," Strang
said. "I wanted to give it a go and
I nearly did at the end but once I
had that crash I was pretty much
done."
Factory Husqvarna's Andrew
Delong is not only making the
big transition from the XC2 Pro
Lites class this season, but the
Pennsylvania-native is aboard an
all-new program in general. De-
long has admittedly spent only a
month and a half on the TE 350
but says he's more comfortable
than he has been all season. On
Sunday, Delong finished a sea-
son-best fourth overall in South
Carolina.
"I'm a little behind the eight ball
from the other guys who have
been with the same program for a
while now," Delong said. "It's get-
ting better, the more seat time I
get on it the better and I feel more
comfortable. I had a blast riding
the Big Buck track, it's one of my
favorite places."
N-Fab AmPro Yamaha's Paul
Whibley finished in fifth after an
impressive come-from-behind
charge, while his teammate Jor-
dan Ashburn followed in sixth.
Factory FMF/KTM's Steward
Baylor finished seventh in the
XC1 Pro class, followed by Maxx-
is/KLIM/DirtWise KTM Race
Team's Jason Thomas, Rockstar
Energy/WMR/KTM's Ryan Sipes
and HR Motorsports-backed
Takeshi Koikeda, who rounded
out the top 10 in XC1.
KTM Support rider Grant Bay-
lor took over the points lead in
the XC2 Pro Lites class after
a big win in his home state. It
wasn't Baylor's from the begin-
ning, though, as Raines Riding
Had the race
been five laps
instead of six,
Ricky Russell
probably
would've taken
the XC2 Pro-
class win.
