SportBike king Beau- bier is learning the ropes on a Superbike while Hayden is still coming to grips with his works Yoshimura Suzuki bike and crew after spending the previous three seasons on the Jordan machine. But both riders have the potential to push Hayes on a regular basis once they are fully up to speed. And now they essentially have three 'free' rounds to work up to midseason form before AMA Pro next pays points for race results. "Yeah, for sure, that will defi- nitely help those guys," Hayes said. "But, I think it's going to be good for me, too. Typically I've gotten rolling better as the sea- son has gone on and getting to ride these rounds is going to help me as well. It just gets you back into the swing of being a motor- cycle racer. "It's hard to feel like a profes- sional racer when you never get to ride motorcycles. I'm watch- ing people all over the world who are getting paid (or even paying) to race motorcycles at the world level and they're riding 18- and 19-round series. They're doing tons of testing.
