Nobody with the soul of a mo-
torcyclist could call watching a
master of the esoteric craft of
wringing the neck of the world's
fastest motorcycle "boring." It
was fascinating when Doohan
was doing it, all alone up front.
Likewise when Marquez does it,
with a good 80 or even 100-odd
more horsepower.
The predictability of the re-
sults, however, did get a bit
samey back then, as for race af-
ter race Mighty Mick so far out-
classed his rivals that they looked
