TRICKER SWEEPS GLEN HELEN WMX
M
ackenzie Tricker extended her lead in the
2014 AMA Women's Motocross Champion-
ship (WMX) with an impressive victory at the FMF
California Classic, round three of the WMX series
at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, Califor-
nia, on April 13.
Except for a first-moto tip-over – the result of
a collision with Team Green Kawasaki's Brandy
Richards – Tricker had few problems en route to a
double-moto victory.
Kawasaki rider Marissa Markelon finished sec-
ond overall with a 2-2 total, while Japanese rider
Sayaka Kaneshiro rounded out the podium in third
after posting a 3-3 tally.
The double-moto victory gave Tricker a total of
50 points for the day which extended her lead in the
series point standings to 43 points over Markelon.
"This feels extremely good, this is definitely what
I was aiming for this weekend," said Tricker. "This
has been a goal of mine for a long time to win this
title and I've just got to keep the ball rolling now."
After three rounds, Tricker sits atop the series
standings with 147 points. Markelon is second with
104 points and Taylor Higgins is in third with 80
points.
Australian Mackenzie Tricker won both WMX motos at
the FMF California Classic at Glen Helen Raceway.
