FEATURE HOW THEY ARE MADE: B E L L H E L M E T S P94 Y ou can't have research and development without testing. So it's only natural for a group of companies that's invested in protecting your dome to have a testing facility on site at its 'Dome.' In the test lab, en- gineers put helmets to the test following the process similar to what DOT, Snell and ECE (the European standard) do to certify a helmet, in addition to Bell's own research, including different parts of the helmet that aren't cov- ered in standard testing.
