HONDA UNVEILS THE NM4
H
onda is quick to announce
one of its latest machines in
its 2015 lineup, the all-new NM4.
The bike is one of Honda's lat-
est streetbike models intended
to attract the interest of new rid-
ers or returning riders with futur-
istic looks and user-friendly op-
eration.
The NM4 is powered by a
670cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-
twin engine with four valves per
cylinder, automatic dual-clutch
transmission and ABS. There are
storage pockets in the fairing,
plus, of course, saddlebags to
provide what Honda calls "real-
world utility." The rear turn sig-
nals are integrated into the rear
bags.
It has a super-low 25.6-inch
seat height and a rider backrest
feature, where the passenger seat
flips up and can be set at three dif-
ferent angles and slides forward
and back to one of four positions.
It also features full LED light-
ing, a fat, 200mm rear tire and a
meter display that can be illumi-
nated in any of 25 different color
choices.
The NM4 will be offered in
Black Metallic with a $10,999
MSRP. Honda says the NM4 will
be available in June.
Honda also announced the
return of the CRF110F and
CRF50F. Also on deck will be a
revamped PCX150 scooter.
The NM4 will join Honda's streetbike lineup for the 2015
model year, though it is expected to arrive in June.
MEAD ON THE MEND
O
ff-road racer Rory Mead,
who suffered a spinal injury
while competing in the Steele
Creek GNCC in North Carolina
on March 30, has been trans-
ported to the Johnson City Medi-
cal Center trauma hospital where
he's undergone surgery to stabi-
lize the fractures and fuse the C4
through C7 vertebrae. Pieces of
the shattered bones were push-
ing into the spinal cord, but there
is no indication of the spinal cord
being severed. There was, how-
ever, significant swelling to the
cord area and he still has little
to no feeling from basically the
chest down.
Mead, however, remains up-
beat.
"No one ever likes to get hurt,
but it is a fact that we need to
face it every now and then,"
Mead said. "As they say, it is
what it is, but you can be assured
that I am ready to fight with all my
might and do whatever is neces-
sary to give myself the possibility
of a full and quick recovery. I am
so thankful for the outpouring of
support that my family, friends,
and the off-road motorcycle
community have provided to me
since the accident - it has been
overwhelming. I want to thank my
teammate Jason Thomas and fel-
