ou can't have research and development without testing. So it's only
natural for a group of companies that's invested in protecting your
dome to have a testing facility on site at its 'Dome.' In the test lab, en-
gineers put helmets to the test following the process similar to what DOT,
Snell and ECE (the European standard) do to certify a helmet, in addition to
Bell's own research, including different parts of the helmet that aren't cov-
ered in standard testing. After testing is complete at the Dome, helmets are
sent off to third party testing for certification.
Also, research and development does not end at the final retail product,
the test lab engineers are also looking to develop and refine testing protocol.
TESTING 1-2-3
The Dome's test
lab gives Bell
engineers the
opportunity to put
its helmets to the
test. That on-site
capability is an
asset to Bell's
research and
development of
helmets.
