AMA DISTRICT 37 BIG 6 GRAND PRIX/WEST COAST GP SERIES
VOL. 51 ISSUE 14 APRIL 8, 2014 P81
"At the end of the pavement, I
made just a bonehead move and
ended up blowing the turn. I was
kind of to the left of somebody and
at the last second he decided to pin
it, so I couldn't really cut over and
make the turn so I had no choice,
really, but to blow the turn."
The last half of the race was
all Udall and his WFOx Motors-
ports/Bowden Development/MSR
CRF450X, though he admitted he
was a bit worried early.
"When Gordon Ward went by me
and Eric Yorba passed me in the be-
ginning, I was kind of worried like,
'Oh, these guys might pull this out!'"
Udall said.
But it was the SCORE champ who
pulled it out after spending much of
the past few months putting his race
effort together.
"I'm getting back into that racing
shape and racing feel," he said. "I
was kind of rushing things a little
bit at the beginning and making my
bike fight me. Once I got relaxed
and kind of going after the pit, ev-
erything started clicking and I start-
ed pulling some time out so it was
pretty good."
Udall ended up a minute and 32
seconds ahead of Yorba at the fin-
ish with THR Motorsports/Monster
Morgan Crawford
(G1) screamed
his 250 from the
second row to
overall the Vet race
on Saturday.
