drew Short has had a solid year
and had another strong finish at
Houston by finishing sixth. The
Texas resident is one of only six
riders to be in every main event
and he sits seventh in points go-
ing into the final three rounds.
"It was good to finish sixth to-
night," said Short. The track was
tricky and technical and people
were going down, so I'm happy to
make it through safe. I felt consis-
tent but didn't take any chances.
The dirt was hard to see and the
bike would go sideways before
you knew it and that was danger-
ous."
And why does he think he's had
good results in recent weeks? "I
just think I'm a little more rested
than them," Short said, "and it's
that time of the season when ev-
eryone is worn down."
After piling up with a group of
riders on the opening lap, Dung-
ey got up and completed the first
lap in 18th place. The Red Bull
KTM rider easily made the most
passes of the race and at the fin-
ish was seventh but lost another
11 points to Villopoto and even
lost a position in the standings to
