CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Denny Hamlin has sinus problems and will be replaced in the car by Ken Hornish Jr." The Fastest Man On The Planet Steve Cox (Guest Column, "The Fastest Man On The Planet," Issue 12, March 25 cyclenews.uberflip. com/i/282881/116) is right: James Stewart is the "Fastest Man on the Planet." But Ryan Villopoto is the defending three- time champion because he's the "Fastest Consistent Man On The Planet." Every so often Stewart thinks he can go a little faster than his reflexes can save. But one thing I think he doesn't get enough credit for is that he's also the smartest tactician in motocross. He not only finds lines and rhythms that nobody else does; he then saves them until the main event. By the time the rest of the field starts to copy him, he's already pulled four or five seconds on them. And besides, he's got the greatest smile in motorsports. Brent Meeker Camarillo, CA The Fastest Man On The Planet II "A black man in a white man's sport"? I'm not buying it. I've been around the sport since it came to the U.S. and this is the first time I've ever heard such a thing even alluded to. A couple of morons (two mentioned in the article) out of hundreds of thousands of spectators make motocross and Supercross quite possibly the least racist endeavor on the planet. Glenn Jaffas Via the Internet Nuff Said Toronto Supercross 250 class: Adam Cianciarulo, champion- ship points' leader, has his left shoulder dislocated in the whoops (without crashing). He gets it pulled back into socket with the help of two corner workers and re-enters the race. He retires two laps later. Toronto Supercross 450 class: Points leader and defending champion Ryan Villopoto spends the day in the hospital due to food poisoning, misses practice and qualifying, and arrives at the track just in time for rider introductions. He finishes sixth and retains the points' lead. Qatar MotoGP: Defending champion Marc Marquez has his broken right leg plated in or- der to race. He takes pole and wins the race in a hard-fought battle with Valentino Rossi. Fontana NASCAR: Denny Hamlin has sinus problems and will be replaced in the car by Ken Hornish Jr. Nuff said. Brent Meeker Via the Internet Fast Freddie That picture of Fast Freddie (Captured, Issue 9, March 14 http://cyclenews.uberflip. com/i/270748/10) sure does prompt memories of yester- year, and I miss seeing him out there. With a microphone in his hand as well! Of course, there are others - but few like Freddie. Kirk Ochwat Via the Internet No Fan Of Marquez I'm one race away from not watching MotoGP anymore. Three things I don't like. 1. I don't think Marc Marquez's "darling boy" persona fits MotoGP. How many times did I hear that darling name while trying to watch the Grand Prix of Qatar? 2. More importantly, I don't like the way he rides. 3. I don't trust anyone who smiles that much. Now let me drop to a Robby Gordon-esque com- ment: Did you ever notice he has lips like a girl? And, oh yeah, I really don't like Honda. Final comment: Thumbs up to James Stewart and Suzuki!
