they have only done this in a very
short space of time, but they are
planning to be here for the long
run. Which is good. They are
planning to use this to develop
their road product, which is pret-
ty much what World Superbike is
about.
You mentioned 2015 earlier.
What we see is an Evo bike
now, and what we will see is
an Evo only spec of Superbike
in 2015… Will it probably be a
bit different from each other,
and somewhere between a
current Superbike and a cur-
rent Evo bike?
GL: There will only be Super-
bike in 2015. That is clear. What
is the focus? The focus [for Evo
as it stands] was to let the teams
have a chance, in a class with
some view that you can promote
and that personally I think if you
do the job properly you can be
very, very close, at a lower cost.
This can work for one manufac-
turer or two, or one brand or two.
We knew how to do that and we
needed more exposure on the
grid, as you know from last year
we needed to do something. So
with some costs control this can
help our grid now and will show
us and teach us if it is a good
base for something in the future.
Now the second priority is that
it is going to be one champion-
ship and it needs to be all the
brands, like we have in the Su-
perbike now, but with lower spec
– and all the brands. As well,
we want all the National Cham-
pionships together. We want to
have wild cards. We want the
teams in World Superbike after
one year to pass their technol-
ogy to National Championships.
We want to have some National
Championships and an endur-
ance championship. We have to
