MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES
VOL. 51 ISSUE 13 APRIL 1, 2014 P47
Briefly...
After the race, James Stewart com-
mented on why he thinks he has fi-
nally started winning again. "I'm rid-
ing the same way I've been riding
all year, we just have things working
really good now," said Stewart. "Ob-
viously, the big difference now is I'm
putting myself in position to win rac-
es. I honestly think I was riding the
same all year, but the last few races
things just kind of clicked."
Stewart also commented on the
track that he thought was too easy.
"The only thing that was tough was
the ruts," said Stewart. "It kind of
sucks when the Lites bikes are do-
ing the same thing you are, then you
know the track is pretty basic. I think
the second lap I jumped everything,
there was one quad out there that
Brayton did, and I did it one lap and
it wasn't that much faster. But I think
my race craft was what made the
difference. I was cornering well to-
night and I was able to pick up some
speed on them in the turns."
In Toronto, Ryan Villopoto was suf-
fering from what he thought was food
poisoning, but in St. Louis, he said
that they weren't totally sure what it
was now. "We're doing some tests
and seeing a stomach doctor, but
we still don't know what was wrong,"
said Villopoto. "But I definitely felt
better this weekend."
RCH Soaring Eagle Suzuki's Broc
Tickle, who suffered an injury to his
T7 vertebra in Toronto, was released
from the hospital on the day before
the St. Louis round. "Everything is
getting better day-by-day and I really
appreciate all the support and fans
that I have behind me," Tickle said in
a tweet. "I still have a lot ahead of me

I
f James Stewart's spectacular performance in Toronto
last week wasn't proof enough that he's back to his "old
self," then his performance in St. Louis should certainly
convince any doubter that he sure is. In front of a record-
breaking 60,213 fans at the St. Louis Edward Jones Dome,
the Yoshimura Suzuki rider had a near repeat performance
of his Toronto win by running down the pack, including a
healthy Ryan Villopoto, to claim his fifth win of the 2014
season and his third in a row. He made an aggressive but
clean pass on the defending champ at the halfway mark
of the main event to take the lead, which eventually ended
