VOL. 51 ISSUE 13 APRIL 1, 2014 P21
Rockstar Energy Suzuki
World's Clement Desalle ended
up second via his two thirds, the
results moving him from fifth to
fourth in the series standings and
only one point behind Gautier
Paulin and Jeremy Van Hore-
beek.
It was another podium for Ya-
maha's Van Horebeek thanks
to his performance in race one
when he finished a very comfort-
able second to Cairoli. In race
two, the Belgian recovered from
a few errors but managed to
make up for his mistakes to finish
fourth for third overall.
Monster Energy Kawasaki
Racing Team's Paulin, mean-
while, made a great recovery in
race one after taking the hole-
shot and then crashing. After
bouncing back to seventh place
in race one, the flying Frenchman
kept it on two wheels in race two
to finish second for fourth overall.
Rounding out MXGP's top
five was Team HRC's Max Nagl,
the German spending most of
his time ducking roost after bad
starts. He would turn in a 4-5 tally
for fifth overall.
Cairoli leads the title chase by
a healthy 30 points; Paulin is tied
for second with Van Horebeek –
just one point ahead of Desalle.
Nagl is fifth, but just a point be-
hind those two.
It has been a long time com-
ing for Tonus, but victory finally
came for the Swiss rider in the
MX2 class. Tonus won the first
moto and finished second in the
second to earn his first-ever MX2
Grand Prix win, making history
as the first ever Swiss rider to do
so. With his win, Tonus also took
over the MX2 World Champion-
ship points lead in the absence
of defending World Champion
Jeffrey Herlings, who missed the
round due to injury.
Rockstar Energy Suzuki Eu-
rope's Glenn Coldenhoff strug-
gled to find his rhythm in the
first moto and finished fifth, but
he bounced back in the second
race to take victory. That put
him second overall behind To-
nus.
BikeIT Yamaha Cosworth's Max
Anstie ended up third overall.
With two-time FIM MX2 World
Champion Herlings out of action,
the championship was turned
upside down. Tonus now leads
- two points clear of Coldenhoff
while Ferrandis drops back to
third. Herlings is fourth, 15 points
off the lead.

tween Kevin Schwantz and
Circuit of The Americas that was
scheduled to go to court in May
has been settled, with Schwantz
reaching a new agreement with
the track in his hometown of
Austin, Texas, to be the official
ambassador for COTA it was an-
nounced last week.
The deal ends a year of "he
said, she said" and puts an end
to the feud between the two par-
ties.
"Like you said, what a dif-
ference 12 months makes,"
Schwantz said in an interview on
Bike Week Radio Show. "A little
misunderstanding one side to the
other, communication amongst
