you're done.
"There's nothing to be disap-
pointed about, being in victory
circle after 200 miles, 57 laps,"
Lewis said. "That was a really
long race. I would have liked to
have been holding up that big tro-
phy, but Danny was riding great
all weekend. I got off to a really
great start. The whole pack was
at the front at the beginning of the
race, but I was just having a few
issues, and I lost the draft."
Powerhouse Struggles
Ask any pundit what team was the
pre-race favorite for the Daytona
200 and they would all point to
the Yamaha Extended Service/
Monster Energy/Graves/Yama-
ha squad. After all, they were the
defending series and Daytona
200 winner. Gerloff, who had
been in the lead pack all day,
had his race go sour shortly after
the first pit stop when he pitched
it away in turn five. He was able
to get back underway and make
it to the pits for repairs. He then
spent the second half of the race
burning through the field to an
amazing fifth.
"I'm doing good. Just had to
get a CT scan," Beach said on
Sunday – a day after crashing out
of the race. "All was good. Was
out for a little but that's it. Felt bad
yesterday, but better today."
Rossi-Like Celebration
Eslick couldn't wait to party down
with the fans. He made the po-
dium celebrants wait while he
jumped a fence on his cool-down
lap and celebrated with his fans,
who were crowded on a convert-
