IN THE WIND P22 THE LEGEND OF BOU R epsol Montesa's Toni Bou continues to re-write the re- cord books in World Trials, the Spaniard earning his eighth con- secutive X-Trial World Champion- ship at the Milan Indoor Trial in Milan, Italy. Bou now has 15 World Cham- pionships – seven outdoors and eight indoors. All 15 titles have been consecutive. His record in the X-Trial World Championship is overwhelming: 40 wins, 25 in a row, in the 60 events he has participated in since 2005. Bou gave an exhibition in the three phases of the Milan Indoor Trial, finishing the qualifying lap and the semi-final without any penalty points and with just one point in the final, due to exces- sive time spent in one zone. "All the indoor trial events are very special for me, I have said this before, and to win the title in this specialty is fantastic," Bou said. "Now they are eight and I'm going to continue keeping up my motivation. I don't want to stop here. Today I felt very, very good from the first moment, I started very aggressively and felt incred- ibly well on the bike. I'm delight- ed to have won in this way. And now, with this championship in our hands it's time to work on the outdoor World Champion- ship. We've got a lot of work to do, but our results are the best motivation to continue." Bou beat Sherco's Albert Ca- bestany in the Milan round and also in the World Championship. Adam Raga rode his Gas Gas to third in both the series finale and the title chase. Toni Bou won his eighth straight Indoor World Trials Championship AMA SUPERBIKES TO LAGUNA A nd then there were six. There will be six rounds for the 2014 AMA Pro Road Racing series with the announcement coming last week that the se- ries will make the trek to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the World Superbike round at La- guna Seca, July 11-13. "We have a partnership with AMA Pro Road Racing that dates back to 1976," said Gill Camp- bell, CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. "We want to feature the best of American motorcycle racing." Laguna Seca had been strug- gling to get a deal done with the AMA Pro Racing since it first an- nounced that the World Super- bike round would again be held on the Monterey Peninsula in July. Originally, AMA Pro Racing scheduled the Mid-Ohio round of the AMA Superbike Series on the same weekend as Laguna's round, but a change of date by Mid-Ohio made it highly likely that Laguna would again have the AMA as its support races for World Superbike. As it turns out, the Laguna Seca round is the only AMA Pro
