FIFTH ANNUAL MONSTER ENERGY RICKY CARMICHAEL DAYTONA AMATEUR SUPERCROSS
VOL. 51 ISSUE 11 MARCH 18, 2014 P131
rider in second, with Josh Osby
(KTM), Bradley Taft (Yam) and
Cody McCullough (Yam) round-
ing out the top five.
Winning the first WMX race
of the year was Yamaha/FLY
Racing/Motorcycle Superstore-
backed rider Mackenzie Tricker,
the Australian-native dominat-
ing the Women's final, scoring a
dominant 1-1 finish for the week-
end. This class was the one ex-
ception to the Supercross-style
format due to the rules used for
the all-new eight round Women's
Motocross (WMX) Champion-
ship. Because of the two-race
championship format, the WMX
class raced its first moto on Sun-
day and finished with the second
moto on Monday, combining
both motos for an overall finish.
"The track is gnarly and I didn't
feel that good out there, I
pumped up and made a few
mistakes," said Tricker. "But
it's a long season and it's a
good way to start off the year."
Finishing second to Tricker
was Connecticut's Marissa
Markelon, who put in a valiant
fight in moto two. Florida's very
own Kylie Fasnacht put in a
solid 3-3 moto score, finishing
third overall for the weekend.
Jalek Swoll won the Mini Sr. (12-
14) on a KTM, beating out Brock
Papi, also on a KTM, and Suzu-
ki-mounted Tommy Rios. Swoll
Zachary Commans
was the big winner
in the 250 All-Star
A/B class.
