VOL. 51 ISSUE 11 MARCH 18, 2014 P143
Will Rossi revive his legacy?
the greatness of Roberts? Very
few would claim that it does.
Rossi's international stardom
has also widened the sport's avail-
able talent pool, inspiring a legion
of wannabe #46s all around the
globe. And for the many thou-
sands of potential racers who may
not have otherwise considered a
career spent at 200mph on two
wheels, there's always a chance
one of them will actually turn out
to be 'the next Rossi.'
Case in point, defending Mo-
toGP king Marc Marquez ranks
among today's emerging talents
who readily admit to having idol-
ized Rossi at an early age.
Yes, no, or maybe… the jury
is still out. Rossi stands as one
of the very best there has ever
been and that will never be in
doubt. But whether or not he
should rightfully be regarded as
'the Greatest of All Time' largely
comes down to how one frames
the argument.
At least for now. Rossi hasn't
hung up his helmet just yet and
history is still being written. Can
'The Doctor' perform one last
miracle? Or at least a minor ca-
reer facelift procedure? CN
