he 5th Annual Monster Ener-
gy Ricky Carmichael Daytona
Amateur Supercross came
to another successful but exhaust-
ing conclusion after another busy
two days of furious racing action,
with 34 AMA National Champions
being crowned at Daytona Interna-
tional Speedway. The RCSX has
grown in stature every year since its
inception and this year nearly 1300
entries graced the starting gates, all
competing for part of the $73,000
in contingency prizes offered while
enjoying the chance to race at one
of the most prestigious motorsports
facilities in the world. It's also a
chance for amateur racers to race
the same Supercross course as the
pros, one of the few chances ama-
teur racers get to do so.
In addition to all the contingency
