MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES
ROUND 10/MARCH 8, 2014
DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA
P44
riders had to get around Wilson
first, which proved to be more dif-
ficult than expected.
While the 250 West SX Series
is on a lengthy break, Wilson is
filling in on the Discount Tire/
TwoTwo Motorsports Kawasaki
Team for the injured Chad Reed,
and although he was faster than
both Roczen and Dungey over
the first few laps, he wilted near
the end of the race, not being
used to the longer, 20-lap races
in the 450 class.
Dungey caught up to Wilson
first, but his battle with Wilson
allowed Roczen to close in and
then on lap 11, the former MX2
World Champion passed Dungey
for third.
"I had a hard time getting
around Wilson, every time I
would get up along side him, he
would get a little bit more drive
and edge me out," said Dungey.
"I used a lot of energy trying to
get around Wilson, and Ken was
right there and he came up on
us and we were all three actually
side-by-side for a little bit."
On lap 15, the KTM riders
passed Wilson, as Wilson started
his fade back to seventh.
