AMA DISTRICT 37/GPR STABILIZERS BIG 6 GRAND PRIX SERIES/AMA WEST HARE SCRAMBLES CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES VOL. 51 ISSUE 10 MARCH 11, 2014 P97 "I haven't been in a mud race in a long time--maybe since I was on an 80! It's probably been at least 12 years or something," he mused. "That was different from the get-go. "I knew I was in third or second the whole race. Me and Argu- bright were riding together quite a bit. One of us would hit a lapper and maybe get kind of messed up by that and one of us would go by [the other], something like that. "Eventually I was in second and had a pretty good gap [over Argubright] then my fork seal blew and I have air forks! So I lost all my air in the one fork [leg] so I was riding a stink bug around. Hit- ting bumps, it was like bottoming - bam, bam, bam - everywhere! Argubright was back behind me so I waved him by like, 'Hey man, this is as fast as I'm going to go.' " Northern California's Brian Garrahan did the hare scrambles crowd proud by nabbing the hole- shot on his Garrahan Off-road Training Husqvarna and ended up fourth. "I saw the forecast and it looked like rain so I figured I'd give these young kids a run for their money in the mud because that's what I'm good at," he said. "It was tons of fun, a super-good course; it wasn't muddy enough, but it was muddy enough to have fun. I had a smile on my face. The main thing today is I don't care how I do--just to get that feeling again and I had that feeling today the last half of the race and that's great to have." Three Bros KTM's Kevin Bar- bosa claimed the Pro II win and fifth overall after teammate Nick Stover had an engine problem. (Stover would be credited with fourth in class and 12th overall.) Wilson's Motorsports KTM- mounted Morgan Crawford took the Vet Expert victory with his sixth overall followed by Heavy- weight Intermediate winner Josh Nunes and Pro II riders Blayne Thompson and Michael Del Fan- te. Purvines Racing Beta's Justin Morrow continued his recovery from the flu for 10th overall and fifth Pro after a heavy crash. CN 1. Eric Yorba (KTM) 2. Jacob Argubright (Hus) 3. Colton Haaker (Hon) 4.
