MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES
VOL. 51 ISSUE 10 MARCH 11, 2014 P49
comfortable with the track, An-
drew Short's BTO Sports KTM
team found a suitable setup and
Shorty turned in a solid ride in the
main.
"I wasn't that quick all day
in practice and for me to finish
fifth in the main was great," said
Short. "I had a decent start and I
just rode aggressive for 20 laps."
Like several riders, Short took
advantage of a get-together with
Justin Barcia and Malcolm Stew-
art that took each other out.
"I started off around fifth, but
then Barcia and Malcolm got
around me, but they ended up
taking each other out, so I ben-
efitted from that," said Short.
"I tried to ride a smart race and
keep my intensity, I knew it was
going to be a long race and it
paid off for me."
Sixth For Hahn
Wil Hahn rode a solid and steady
race to finish sixth. The GEICO
Honda rider was as far back as
17th at one point but picked up
the pace in the late stages of the
20-lapper.
"The ride felt better than a
sixth, but when I start that far
back, it's going to be a sixth,
unfortunately," Hahn said. "I felt
like I could've gotten up there
and gotten a fourth or a fifth, but
I wasted too much time at the be-
ginning and didn't come through
the way I wanted it. But I was able
to stay calm and keep my head
down.
"It was hectic on the gate and I
just messed up the jump," added
Hahn. "The first three turns are
critical here and I didn't jump the
triple, and if you don't jump the
triple on the first lap you're not
giving yourself a chance."
Another Ding
It was another frustrating night
at the races for James Stewart,
with his title hopes taking anoth-
Martin Davalos (31) leads
runner-up Adam Cianciarulo
(46) and Blake Wharton (36)
early in the 250 main.
