VOL. 51 ISSUE 10 MARCH 11, 2014 P37
>>Yamaha has unveiled the latest addition
to its 2014 line-up – a new and improved
Super Tenere (pictured) and Super Tenere
ES. First introduced in the U.S. in 2012,
Yamaha listened to its customers and made
some changes. Namely, they sought to
improve the bike's functionality, increase
rider comfort, and also make some subtle
styling changes.
The most notable changes are a more
exciting powerband on the low end, a tool-
less adjustable wind screen, handlebars
that are closer (by 10mm) and higher, and
cruise control added as a standard feature.
The more premium ES model has all the
same features of the base model with some
additional upgrades – electronic suspen-
sion and heated grips. Similar to the set-up
fitted on the 2013 FJR1300, the system al-
lows you to electronically adjust suspension
with a push of a button.
The MSRP is $15,090 for the standard
model and $1100 more gets you the pre-
mium ES model at $16,190.
