MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES
VOL. 51 ISSUE 9 MARCH 4, 2014 P41
seemed to have fared worse in
the start crash. He raced for a
couple laps then crashed again
and his night was over. He was
credited with 21st place, scored
just a single point and dropped
from second to third in the series
standings and went from just nine
points out of the series lead to 26
behind.
Briefly...
as part of The Legends and Heroes
Tour. Sellards is working with Martin
Davalos this season and talked about
how proud he was that Davalos final-
ly earned his first win the week be-
fore Indy in Atlanta.
Ivan Tedesco suffered a freak crash
at the start of the 450 LCQ when
he got pitched off his bike and then
was thrown into Tevin Tapia's bike.
Both of Tedesco's legs got sucked
up in between Tapia's bike's rear
wheel and fender and Tedesco was
dragged several yards down the start
straight behind Tapia's machine.
Indianapolis fans are typical Mid-
western, in that they cheer loudly for
good racing and are loath to openly
show criticism. That wasn't the case
Saturday night however. Mike Alessi
was greeted with a loud chorus of
boos as he was interviewed on the
podium after winning his heat race.
In spite of the tough greeting from
Indy fans, Alessi nailed the holeshot
in the main, led for four laps and was
on track for the best Supercross re-
sult of his career, when he cross-rut-
ted and crashed out of second-place
13 laps into the 20-lap main. He exit-
ed the track to have something fixed
and then resumed and finished 15th.
