"The first 40 miles of the race was good with Colton Udall and I going back and forth," Brabec said. "I've never started a Mexi- co race and I've never finished a Mexico race before so it was pretty awesome. These guys [my teammates] are all good part- ners. We delivered the bike all in one piece." Udall's team suffered from a flat tire and an off-track excursion. "We got a flat tire over the dry lake bed and we lost two min- utes," runner-up Udall said. "My brother [Ian Young] had an awe- some ride and he's just a fill-in guy for Mark Samuels. He's re- ally proven himself. He caught the Kawasaki guys and passed them. On the new section of the course I was going too fast and went off of a cliff. I'm happy that I'm healthy and didn't break any- thing, but I did a lot of damage to my motorcycle. Just a month ago Mark Samuels and I put together this team and I really wanted to come out on top." The Francisco Septien team of Gerardo Rojas, Vicente Guerro and Tyler Renshaw topped Class 30 with its third overall finish. Giovanni Spinali, Paul Thom- as, Mike Carter and John Griffin combined efforts to win Class 40, while Richard Jackson, Gregg Hawks and Mark Force claimed the Class 60 victory. TESTING, TESTING MOTOGP Y amaha's Valentino Rossi and Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa ended up with identical lap times on the third and final day of Mo- toGP testing at the Sepang Interna- tional Circuit in Malaysia last week, the pair both clocking 1:59.999 laps to leave the test as the joint fastest riders. The two were also the only riders at the test to crack the two-minute barrier. Rossi, though, wasn't com- pletely satisfied as he continues Valentino Rossi ended the second Sepang test as the joint-fastest rider along with Dani Pedrosa.
