IN THE WIND P24 YORBA GETS DIRTY AT GLEN HELEN WCGP F MF/RPM Racing/Bonanza Plumbing KTM's Eric Yorba played in the mud and came out smelling like a rose at the Big 6 WCGP/West Hare Scrambles National at Glen Helen Raceway over the March 1-2 weekend. In wet, windy and muddy condi- tions, thanks to a rare Southern California rainstorm, Yorba took top honors in the weekend's pre- mier race - the combined AMA West Coast Grand Prix and West National Hare Scrambles Series. started to creep away from Argu- bright, who pulled off his goggles and had trouble seeing. He fin- ished about two and a half min- utes behind Yorba, but still leads the Hare Scrambles Champion- ship having already won the first two rounds of the series. Third overall went to Rockstar/ Lucas Oil/JCR Honda's Colton Haaker. Former National Hare Scram- bles champ Brian Garrahan, who grabbed the early lead on his Garrahan Off-Road Training Husqvarna, ended up fourth, with 3-Brothers KTM's Kevin Bar- bosa winning the Pro II class in fifth overall. Eric Yorba won the combined AMA WCGP/West National Hare Scrambles at Glen Helen Raceway. At one point, the two were neck and neck until Yorba NO TESTING FOR MARQUEZ Repsol Honda's Marc Mar- quez was ruled out of the Mo- toGP test in Australia, the World Champion being advised by his doctors that his broken right fibula was not healed enough to take part in this week's on-track action at Phillip Island. Marquez broke his fibula (the smaller of the two bones in the lower leg) in a dirt track training ac- cident. A checkup last week with Dr. Mir in Bar- celona showed that the injury was not sufficiently healed for the Bridgestone tire test. "I'm obviously disappointed that I'm not in Sepang at the moment and to miss Phillip Island is also unfortunate, but we believe it is the best deci- sion," Marquez said last week in a team release. "After my meeting today with Dr. Mir, although he was happy with the general situation of my leg af- ter only seven days since the accident, he advised against taking unnecessary risk. So I will take time to rest and get myself as fit as possible to return to Qatar for the first race in the best shape possible." There won't be any testing for Marc Marquez prior to the season opener in Qatar. PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOLD & GOOSE
